Jessica Hickok
It is not an urban myth that Jessica Hickok hired herself for a position within Dizmang Properties Inc. In early 2000, Paul was unsure if he was ready to hire someone and told her that he would think it over while he was on vacation the week following the interview. Assuming that he would need help while away from the office, Jessica convinced Paul that she would make a good addition to the team and showed up for work while he was gone. Upon his return, she convinced him that she was now established and should stay. He didn’t argue with her. She acquired her real estate license and got to work by creating the company web site and establishing a marketing plan for the company listings and helped manage the numerous company clients and contracts.
Today, Jessica is the Vice President of Operations and has partnered with Paul to increase the company growth into managing over 200 single-family residential rental properties. She implemented a forms and checklist system that has improved company efficiency allowing us to take on more investor clients.
In 2010, Jessica and Paul established an accredited educational school of real estate. The Dizmang Properties School of Real Estate is recognized by the Missouri Real Estate Commission and offers continuing education courses in Property Management and other real estate related subjects. Paul and Jessica now offer several different seminars on real estate investments and have spoke at the National Association of REALTORS® Annual Conference in 2009 and 2010.
Jessica has been involved with the REALTOR® Associations and non-profit organizations as the following:
- 2011 Second Vice President Director of the GSBOR MLS Board.
- 2010 Director for Greater Springfield Board of REALTORS® (GSBOR) Multi-List Board.
- 2010-2011 Co-Chair of the GSBOR Young Professionals Network.
- Has served on the GSBOR Technology Committee since 2007.
- 2010 Missouri Association of REALTORS® Young Professionals Network Chair.
- 2011 Technology Chair for Missouri Association of REALTORS®.
- Monthly blogger for REALTOR® Magazine’s Young Professionals Network Lounge.
- 2011 Council Chair for the Ozarks Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
- Has held a Director position of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for the Metro St. Louis/Greater Missouri Chapter while serving as a Research Information Volunteer on the national level.
Some of the biggest highlights of Jessica’s career have culminated all within the first part of 2011. In March, Jessica was recognized and awarded the high honor of the Greater Springfield Board of REALTORS® Salesperson of the Year for 2010. Following that she received the prestigious award of Springfield Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 for her civic, community and professional accomplishments. And in March of 2011, Jessica went back to real estate school and earned her Broker’s license.
Jessica wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what she has without the support of her husband, Ty, and their two children. Together they volunteer their time raising money to find a cure for type 1 diabetes with JDRF. They also love spending time at the lake and enjoy cheering on their kids at their basketball and baseball games.
